PRINCIPAL OF SRI BESTARI INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL KUALA LUMPUR
Mr Sean Lai is an experienced education leader with over 15 years of combined teaching and leadership experience across international, vernacular, and national school settings. His professional background spans whole-school leadership, academic governance, and operational management, enabling him to apply global best practices while remaining culturally and academically responsive to diverse learners.
Throughout his career, Mr Lai had led key initiatives including successful external curriculum inspections and the expansion of academic provision to include Early Years and Primary programmes in his previous role.
A strong advocate of holistic education, Mr Lai believes learning is most effective when experienced through meaningful engagement and collaboration. Guided by the belief that “it takes a village to raise a child,” his leadership at Sri Bestari International School focuses on safeguarding, stability, collaboration, and excellence, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where students and educators thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
DR STEVEN BAPTIST
ACADEMIC ADVISOR TO SRI BESTARI SCHOOLS & PRINCIPAL OF SRI BESTARI PRIVATE SCHOOL KUALA LUMPUR
Dr Steven Baptist has served as Principal of Sri Bestari Private School Kuala Lumpur for the past 13 years and currently holds the role of Academic Advisor to Lang Education Sdn Bhd. In this capacity, he provides strategic oversight and academic direction for both Sri Bestari International School and Sri Bestari Private School Kuala Lumpur.
Dr Baptist was appointed Consortium for AI Education Director by the International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation (ISTIC) and the Academy for Education and Technology Development in Emerging Worlds (AETDEW). In this role, he collaborates closely with leading AI professors from the China Society for Education Strategy and Development (CSESD) in Beijing to advance AI education initiatives across the Global South.
An academician at heart, Dr Baptist brings nearly 30 years of experience spanning both higher education and school education. He is exceptionally well qualified for his leadership roles, holding two bachelor’s degrees, two master’s degrees, a doctorate, and multiple professional certifications.
Sri Bestari Private School
Sri Bestari Private School and Tadika Manjaria have more than two decade of achievement in nurturing children in Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary levels. Many successful students joined the school in Kindergarten or Lower Primary, and remained with the school’s family up to SPM graduation. Sri Bestari School currently has almost 1000 students in the three schools, and follows the Malaysian national curriculum, KSSR and KSSM with the infusion at all levels, both inside the classroom and out, of a global approach. Sri Bestari International School
Sri Bestari International School (SBIS ), a new arm to Lang Education Sdn Bhd, held its first Info Day on 3 June 2017 and has commenced its first intake in September 2017. The expansion of our current education offerings aims to meet the growing preference by providing an alternative in understanding and measuring the children’s capability based on the British National Curriculum, other than the Malaysian National Curriculum. Facilities
The school facilities consist of ICT suites, Hall of Arts, a large multi-purpose hall, dedicated music rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, a covered indoor playground, larger library and purpose-built classrooms within the same compound of Sri Bestari Private School. In addition, the School has introduced the virtual learning platform, Schoology with the aim to promote collaborative and self-directed learning environment that can facilitate the students with 21st century learning skills.
