| Land & General is one of only two PVC
makers in Malaysia, producing 55 per cent of the country's PVC resin output and
controlling 85 per cent of the specialised PVC compound market. Its PVC manufacturing
facility has a production capacity of 27,000 tonnes per annum, with one of the largest
vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) storage tanks in the world. In line with the country's vision for the petrochemical sector and to strengthen
its position in the industry, the Group plans to set up the first PVC/VCM complex in
Kerteh, Terengganu. Industrial Resins (M) Sdn Bhd
will expand its PVC manufacturing operation by setting up a plant with a capacity of
150,000 tonnes per annum while Land & General, in a joint venture with Petronas and
Mitsui & Co Ltd, shall be setting up a 400,000 tonnes per annum VCM manufacturing
facility.
The Group has also recently acquired 99.64 per cent of Perlis Consolidated Sdn Bhd which is principally
involved in the manufacturing and marketing of PVC flooring and sheets.
